Dear Ellie: Major Metro-Area~ Rome! Have you been to Tuscany? Consider the Florence Area. It's Magical! So is Venice! The Amalfi Coast is Beautiful, too! Good Luck in your new life!

Sicily, but it is better not to buy a house in those areas of the Mafia. better in the south of Italy (Calabria, Puglia, Rome) in the north there is a cold climate THE BEST OF EVERYTHING AND SARDINIA

Buriasco is the best place EVER! But also Frossasco is good.. small cities for great people...

Let me recommended that you do not live in Florence. There is a lot of culture there, but as far as things for a resident to do, the city falls epically short.

IIf you want to come to Italy to work I suggest the north in cities like Milan, Turin (especially for finance) .. if you want to live instead in contact with nature, Tuscany, Liguria, Emilia or the two islands (Sicily and Sardinia) ... in my country today to find a good job is hard but if you're competent you can do it ... good luck (I'm Italian and I live in milan)

avoid south italy. Nice place for holidays, but everything is more difficult, disorganized. Plus there's a lot of unemployment (anyway you're going to italy.......keep in mind it's not easy to find a good job) I'd avoid Rome, too chaotic. Italian cities with the highest quality of life: Triest - Bozen(strong german minority..better if you can speak german) - Siena - Bologna
