what is the easiest way to be allowed permission to live in Italy?
or the most likely to get accepted way. I DO NOT need to work over there. So hopefully that will help? I am not rich but I can surely support myself in Italy. I need step by step instructions on what to do. *I have no one else to talk to and dont know where to turn!

1. apply for visa 2. apply for citizenship. 3. repeat as needed, and prepare to attack your need to return home.

to study italian!or cooking classes. to get your visa: you have to be accepted at a school. you need to show that you have payed the inscription to the school, have a place to live.depending where ...it may prove difficult and expensive!you´ll probably have to share with 2 or 3 others(in rome or milano)and apartments there have only one bathroom... you need to show the embassy that you have at least 13,000. dollars on the bank ,you´ll need a health insurance.once there you have to register at some office and pay about 20 euros.the embassy will tell you where to go get that once you are in italy.this is all for a student´s visa. with out one you can stay 3 months NO MORE THAN that. contact me if you want more info.

The easiest ways are either a student visa, if you qualify for one or an elective residence visa. For an elective residence visa, you need to demonstrate that you have a place to stay, insurance and sufficient income from a reliable source to support yourself here. The Italian visa website is here including a link to the application and information on where to apply. http://www.esteri.it/visti/index_eng.asp You can also find information on the Italian consulate websites: http://www.conslosangeles.esteri.it/Consolato_LosAngeles/Menu/I_Servizi/Per_chi_si_reca_in_italia/ You might also want to read the information on the expat website: http://www.expatsinitaly.com/
