Where should I live in Italy

Where should I live in Italy?
I am going to move to italy in a year or so, and I need to find a place to live. I am thinking an apartment will do. The city doesnt matter so much, but I need a website or something to be able to look at real estate in Italy for a relatively inexpensive amount

The south is generally less expensive, but I wouldn't particularly call anything here inexpensive. The first question is where are you coming from? You will require a visa to miove here if you're not from europe already. Visas are not easy to come by if you plan to work here. If you're coming as a student or for elective residence (no job), then you'll need to demonstrate that you have adequate resources to support yourself here without working. Visa information for Italy is here: http://www.esteri.it/visti/index_eng.asp

It depends on your taste. If you are searching for mild weather, nice wild landscapes, traditions, low prices and sea life than your place is the south (Basilicata, Molise, Puglia,Calabria, Sicily) but if you are searching for places with high jobs goals than choose the north.

And what are you planning to do in Italy? The answer of course depend on your age and programs. According to the Telegraph nowadays the best place is The Marche.

I tried leaving Italy after 3 years of living in Abruzzo and just couldn't do it! Having not found a better place to live, I have to of course, highly recommend it. (I've now been here 5 years) Consider what YOU personally want out of life... My priorities were: low crime, opportunity to integrate and work, unspoilt and dramatic scenery (mountains and sea) close by, ability to make new friends and feel welcomed, good weather and really healthy food. Property prices are low with a great choice. Check out www.goldenitaly.net for an alternative service to your property buying. Expect to pay between 20 - 40,000 euros for a nice town apt, even quite close to the coast. Whatever you decide, I wish you all the best in your new venture!
