Is Italy as wonderful as the pictures are? If you have been there would you recommend living there?

I actually have lived there. For six years actually. I moved here when I started middle school. I loved it there. It is beautiful and the architecture is amazing. If you love shopping, it's a dream. Most stores are a bit pricey, but if you're willing to splurge, then go for it, or you'll probably regret it later. But if you plan on living there you should. It's a wonderful experience, and I'd personally love to go back to Italy. I've been all over Europe, but by far my favoraite has been Venice. I mean the gondolas? How romantic! If you plan on it, I say go for it!!!!

Yeah, if I could live in Italy, I would take a villa in Tuscany! Just like the movie, except I doubt I would fall in love...I´m not as cute as Diane Lane...:)

I do live in Italy (south of Verona, for about 9 years), and it is great. Wonderful people, history, art, architecture, great food ... It's very easy here to explore the country on the weekends using the trains. There's always something going on. This morning, I walked into town for a capuccino & brioche and spent the morning wandering around the monthly antiquaria (flea market) in town and visited the exhibition in the castle. The city fair starts next weekend. Yesterday, I decided to go to Florence for lunch and stroll through the old town. I highly recommend living here, but you need to do a lot of preparation if you're not from the EU. A good strating point for planning this type of move is to do some research on the expat websites for the countries you're interested in. These are sites for expats in Italy with general info on living and working here: http://www.us-expatriate-handbook.com/ http://www.expatsinitaly.com/ http://www.expatsinitaly.com/before/gett... http://www.insight-italy.com/artscsii.ht...
