How long would I have to live in Italy if I wanted to become a citizen?

More or less five years with a credible employment or source of income.

I am not sure, but i think that you can never be an Italian citezen unless one of your parents is Italian... the so called "Jus sanguinis" criteria...

the Italian applicable law is n.91/92. You can become a citizen after you marry an italian citizen, or by naturalization after ten years, four years if you have an European Union citizenship.
