How long do you have to live in Italy to become a resident?

You cannot just become resident of a country. It doesn't matter how long you live there. If you are a citizen of an European country then it is possible someday (don't know how long) but if you are not then never. Sorry!

If only it were that simple. But, unfortunately it's not. You have to go through the process like everybody else.

If you are a European citizen you have the freedom to free roam/get a job anything. All you have to worry about is conforming some bureaucratic stuff.

If you live in Italy then you are a resident, legal or not. What actually is the question?
