I'm Egyptian, i have Foreigners' permit of stay in Italy, i would like to go to UK for a few days and i need to know if its possible for me to enter the country with this documents ( italian ID + the permit of stay) or i need to have my Egyptian passport with me?! Is entering in England the same as any other european country?! thx for ur help...

The UK is not part of the Schengen zone and so therefore your ID card in combination with your passport (which you can use to travel to other countries in the Schengen zone) will not allow you entry You will have to obtain a visa in advance of travel from the UK embassy in Italy You can double check this here http://www.klm.com/travel/ch_en/travel_information/travel_planning/travel_clinic/visaform.htm
