Where's a good place to live in Italy

Where's a good place to live in Italy?
I think it would be really cool to live in Italy. I was wondering if there are any really nice places to live. I don't want some where where there are lots of people but I don't want it to be extremely small. I really like the Tuscany region but, I'm fine with anywhere else. -Thanks!

There are so very many places to recommend in Italy, but the reality of an extended stay really focuses around you; the amount of money you can afford per month and what you want out of this stay? Our family is from Sicily and we try to visit there often for a week each year. The beach resort community of Cefalu on Sicily is a favorite of both Italians and people from the EU as a beautiful and yet inexpensive place to both vacation and live. All that said, everyone has their favorite place and one of ours happens to be the town of Greve in Chianti, the heart of Tuscan wine country. Greve is located about 20 miles from Florence and about 10 miles West of the A1. From here, you can strike out on day trips all over central Italy. Other wonderful areas to consider are the Amalfi Coast below Naples, Portofino outside of Genoa, the Cinque Terre above La Spezia..and Lake Como. There is also Parma and Reggio for the food... As you can see, one could go on for days with recommendations. Your best bet before you make the jump is learn the language and always carry a small pocket size Italian/English dictionary with, grab a train schedule and a guide book of Italy, circle all the places that YOU want to visit, not where people tell you...and take a trip to visit them. The problem you will have is deciding which one to choose. Happy New Year, enjoy your adventure and if you have additional questions, please feel free to email me.. Ciao, Paul

to live in Italy is not cool ! it's a conviction ! 1) too much fiscal pressure 2) no services 3) impossible to buy a house ...you must be rich or you must have relatives ready to put down a signature as guarantor 4) impossible to find a dignified job 5) no quality of life 6) no social life (most of people stay at home since life is too expensive) 7) no support from Instituctions 8) no good schools (most of IT students and researchers go abroad to study) 9) Italy has the highest cost for petrol 10) to establish a Limited company you have to pay around to 20/30.000 Eur I could go ahead with this list for days anyway.. If you just want to live in that country I would suggest nort Italy.. Tuscany, Liguria or Veneto Good luck!
