You don't stand a chance of getting your wish. Even if your local recruiter promised it he would be lying. You go where they want you - no choice.

As a prior Air Force Recruiter, I have heard of this being done. You can join the US Military and you can ask for special assignment to be stationed in Italy. Because that is your Home of Record, instead of Italy being an Overseas Assignment, it would be considered a CONUS Assignment. But remember, you would be in the military and the needs of the Military come first so they will, although consider your requests, they will place you where they need you. You should be able to contact the Base that is nearest to you. In Europe, they have a few Air Force Recruiters that you can schedule an appointment with. They'll have all the details.
